A must-do vacation for the family
A few years ago I took the family to the Wisconsin Dells at Christmas Mountain Village. It cost me gas money and about $600 in food and souvineers but the actual stay didn’t cost me a thing. I bartered with someone that had a timeshare on Craigslist. I got a full weeks stay for myself, two kids, and baby momma.
While we were out there we rode the “duck boats” which are basically death traps on wheels. It was great! Basically it is an amphibious vehicle where the tour guide drives you up a horrible path with slanted hills and shit. His job is to scare the crap out of you. Then he drives it into the lake and the water is high up on the damn thing. I thought we was gonna tip over. I can’t fucking swim! Anyways, it was fun regardless of that part. And the dumbass guide is making bad jokes the whole time.
We also went on a decent cruise down a touring area in the lake. It had stops for a small hike, or you can wait on the boat. Whatever floats your….. nevermind, bad joke.
We went to Ripley’s Believe it or Not! That was fun. There is a shitty bridge that makes you think you are gonna fall when you walk across. There are also nasty things in there like brains and stuff. There is also a Wizard Quest that was fun for the kids. It was a mission to find different items in an obstacle course. If you find everything you get a prize on your way out in the store.
We went a little too early in the year. It was May I think so not everything was open. Everything is open mid June I think. They have a roller coaster that goes in a pitch black underground cave. We went to the indoor and outdoor water parks. We drove the go-carts. It was alot of fun. I definately recommend it. Just make sure you are going for the season you can do certain things with. Like snow skiing at Christmas Mountain Village requires snow. So go in December or January for that. Go in Late June to ensure the good water park activities and all the roller coasters.
